ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØCelebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Week

During Martin Luther King Jr. Week, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØ (SXU) will celebrate the life, contributions and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King with a variety of events.

On Tuesday, January 21, the community can visit the Wiseman Student Lounge for "Through the Lens of a Friend," an exhibit of unique portraits of Martin Luther King Jr. taken by photographer Flip Schulke.

On Wednesday, January 22, a celebration will be held in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØDiner Atrium at 11:30 a.m. Students, faculty and staff are invited to listen to and reflect upon Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech.

Learn about voter registration on Thursday, January 23, in the ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØDiner. Student Life staff will be available to provide the community with a quick and easy voter registration experience.

The National Day of Racial Healing, a call-to-action for all, is Friday, January 24. Visit the Butler Reception Room between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to for a period of reflection on what racial healing looks like in your own life and the spaces you engage with.

The ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØcommunity looks forward to celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Grounded in the values of the founding Sisters of Mercy and in reflecting on Dr. King's important work, each day, ÁñÁ«ÊÓÆµÏÂÔØis committed to service, compassion and leading with love.
